Roof extension in Reutlingen

The GWG Wohnunggesellschaft in Reutlingen has a very large housing stock in apartment blocks from the 50s and 60s. These have to be renovated successively. In cooperation with GWG, a row of houses in Orschel-Hagen was used as an example to investigate how these  measures could be combined with the addition of an extra floor in order to keep the rent for the renovated apartments as low as possible. In so doing, it is possible to equip the houses with external elevators and thus significantly improve both comfort and accessibility.

Prefabricated wooden constructions are planned which can be erected during ongoing operation and which only place a minimal load on the existing weakly dimensioned post-war building structure.
