RITEP Rwanda International Trade Fair and Exhibition Park
Kigali, RW
Besides its function as an international trade fair, RITEP fulfills a number of other requirements: It provides for a meeting point for national and international groups (ISANGANO Feasibility Study 2006), a place to exchange ideas and a cultural center.
Their designation as public buildings determine the design of the RITEP trade fair halls: The spatial grading also allows for use during trade-fair-free periods. The concept turns the trade fair halls themselves into landscape elements: as a homage to the hillside landscapes of Rwanda, three pairs of halls row up along the ascending plot of land. With their curved roof, they thus become a landmark for the city of Kigali.
