The music scene, sponsors and politicians have been strongly campaigning for a new concert hall that not only offers world-class performances but also represents new alternative in terms of design to the great concert hall in Gasteig.

It seems obvious that one would choose a location that would optimally benefit from the existing infrastructure of Gasteig and from the advantages such a significant location has to offer.

This is why we have chosen the uppermost tip of the eastern part of the Museum Island for the new concert hall where the weirmakes the transition to Prater Island. Not only does this create synergies with Gasteig, but also with the Muffathalle and the event hall in the Deutsches Museum.
