Tala Bay Resort & Oasis

The objective of the project is to expand Tala Bay, to the south of the Jordanian city of Aqaba, turning it into a self-sufficient and sustainable city. Besides hotels and an amusement park, residential villages, facilities for the film industry and a university are planned.

A revolutionary solar power station that covers the entire power supply of the city and, at the same time, provides for the desalination of seawater, will act as the "Super Landmark" of the semicircular facility. The mirrored surfaces propel the generator at the top of the tower. The shade provided by the mirrors shall be put to use for a souk and an office park. An integrated solar updraft tower provides cooling and ventilation from free solar energy.
